GS Super Charged workout for Prince Of Wales Stakes
[/size]The bay and dark bay colt's had made their way onto the tracks of course, with high tensions in the air Ben snorted and rose to two hooves with high energy. GS Super Charged was entered into another leg of the Canadian Triple Crown, the three year old colt was now a grade 4 colt who moved fiercely on the track. While he was evolving slowly he never gave up a fight. The Admiral's Revenge son was not fit to quit and Chris would have to push him harder this next race but, with even strides. He needed him to take the lead but, he never had. With loud neighs Chris walked the colt to cool off.
Radiation was only a mere two year old new to the tracks but, as a son to the Breeders Cup winner Radiance he certainly had the bloodlines to gain confidence and give confidence to the other. Radiation had not moved a muscle since his approach to Ben. The colt had placed in the Underdog Maiden here at the Wire and still had some things to improve on. The two Jockeys were eager to get started. The horses began their ponder down the track. The colts were different runners on the track.
Ben would not stand for the other to take his charge. The horses gained on each other's speed as they moved up upon the first two furlongs of the track, Ben biting his bit holding back every aggression that seemed to show quite nicely in Ben. Radiation stalked the bay colt of course pushing him further. While Ben had a workout only a few weeks ago this was most certainly a workout for Radiation as well.
The Prince of Wales Stakes was the second leg of the Canadian Triple Crown and yet again GS Super Charged would be up against Italian Ice and GS Royal Crown. Ben came in second by a nose but, it was certainly close. As much as it wasn't a win placing in second was a success regardless. The bay colts eyed each other as they moved along the back stretch of the Wire's track. Ben began to pull away with fire in his heart and rash blows through his nostrils. Chris had wondered in his thoughts if this was a good idea to have Carlos run Radiation with them.
Radiation was a picky runner and given there weren't a lot of racers on this practice track the 2 year old would take his splendid time for the finish. Ben moved like a beast on 2 inches taller then Radiation. Therapy simply stalked his every move his ears pinned to his head. The two hardly ever went near each other in the stable paddocks, it was quite rare to see them running together here.
Chris wanted Ben to win this leg of the race, he would never get a chance at a Triple Crown again. It wasn't long til Chris pulled Super Charged back to hold off onto his speed and match the strides of Radiation once again. At first, Ben was hesitant, raising his head with frustration until he realized what his jockey was presuming. The two colts became eye to eye with one another both horses clearly looking into each other's eyes with fierce looks that said back off.
As the last furlong pole went passed the horses rode off like locomotives. Ben pulled out to the side as usual trying to keep his distance from Radiation pulling his strides longer and deeper then before. The Radiance Colt pulled away as well his nose strictly at Ben's hind quarters as the two horses reached the finish with Ben pulling first. The horses had ran perfectly with no problems so it seemed. Ben gracefully reared up again after not fully intent of his surroundings at first. Radiation was early in his career. He pranced around like some show pony after as the jockeys waved at each other. Ben looked like he was ready and Chris felt good about it.
